About Me

Welcome to Santangelo.ca. My name is Brian Santangelo and this is my online portfolio. I am a recently gradutated graphic design student from the York University/Sheridan College Joint Program in Design in Toronto. Although my specialty has been primarily in designing for print, I take pride in my versatility and continue to successfully design for both web and motion. I love graphic design and all forms of visual communication, with some of my other interests including a passion for movies, music and sports.

Aquiline Nose

This typeface design reflects the pride and strength of Rome. It was originally inspired by and modeled from roman noses themselves, but the shape of the letterforms initially became too spotty and repetitious. The face had to be reinterpreted and reformed to more strongly bring out some of the letters’ more subtle features. The result is Aquiline Nose, a unique face with historic typographic references dating back to square capitals with geometric sans serif proportions, like those of Futura.
